SWIDA was begun in 1989 as a solo practice. It has grown over the next nearly 30 years to a single specialty practice of 8 infectious disease specialists.
Based in Will County, the practice has an office on Essington Road in Joliet and the physicians are on staff at Amita Saint Joseph Medical Center and Silver Cross Hospital. In addition, the practice attends patients at several area skilled nursing facilities.
The focus of the practice is on clinical infectious disease practice with some physicians focused on specialty areas such as tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and HIV care. The goal of the practice is to provide quality and personalized care of individuals with infectious disease and work with other members of the healthcare team for optimal outcomes. Our emphasis is on efficient and effective care to assist patients to return to optimal health.
